Pufferfish poisoning starts with a burning sensation in the mouth followed by slow and slurred speech then progresses into an irregular heartbeat and a total shutdown of the respiratory system.

When a person consumes an unripe poisonous fruit, they will start to feel weak and dehydrated within a few hours, from there it only gets worse; they start getting seizures, get into a coma, and eventually, they die from the poison.

As stomach-turning as it may sound, a raw octopus is considered a delicacy in some parts of the world. The dish is meant to be eaten while the octopus is still squirming.

Even when the chef kills the octopus before serving it to the customer, the nerves in the tentacles will still have the power to squirm and twitch, making it a potential hazardous kill because they can get stuck in the throat blocking the airflow and leading to suffocation.

Food is mostly a means of survival, although some types of food can seem harmless enough, they can pose serious health concerns.
